The method given is applicable to aircraft<br \/>\ngeometries where the tail assembly consists of a single vertical<br \/>\nfin located on the top of the aircraft rear-body in the plane of<br \/>\nsymmetry, with the tailplane mounted either on the fin itself or on<br \/>\nthe rear body.<\/p>\n<p>The contribution arises because the fin induces an<br \/>\nantisymmetrical spanwise loading distribution across the tailplane<br \/>\nwhich generates a rolling moment about the tailplane centre-line<br \/>\nchord.
