This is the harmonized CSA Group and UL Standard For Electric Motor-Operated Hand-Held Tools, Transportable Tools And Lawn And Garden Machinery \u2013 Safety \u2013 Part 3-10: Particular Requirements for Transportable Cut-Off Machines. It is the First edition of CAN\/CSA-C22.2 No. 62841-3-10 and the First edition of UL 62841-3-10.<\/p>\n

This harmonized standard is based on IEC Publication 62841-3-10: First edition Standard For Electric Motor-Operated Hand-Held Tools, Transportable Tools And Lawn And Garden Machinery \u2013 Safety \u2013 Part 3-10: Particular Requirements for Transportable Cut-Off Machines issued September 2015. IEC publication 62841-3-10 is copyrighted by the IEC.<\/p>\n

Scope<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This clause of Part 1 is applicable, except as follows:<\/p>\n

Addition:<\/p>\n

This part of IEC 62841 applies to transportable cut-off machines intended to cut materials such as metals, concrete and masonry and to be fitted with one abrasive<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

– bonded reinforced wheel of Type 41, or<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u2013 diamond cut-off wheel with the peripheral gaps, if any, not exceeding 10 mm<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

and with<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u2013 a rated no-load speed not exceeding a peripheral speed of the wheel of 100 m\/s with the maximum wheel diameter and<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u2013 a wheel diameter range of 250 mm to 410 mm.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This standard does not apply to:<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u2013 transportable mitre saws;<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u2013 transportable tile saws;<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u2013 transportable metal saws.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

NOTE 101 Transportable mitre saws are covered by IEC 62841-3-9. Transportable tile saws will be covered by a future part of IEC 62841-3. Transportable metal saws will be covered by a future part of IEC 62841-3.<\/p>\n
