{"id":274198,"date":"2024-10-19T18:25:43","date_gmt":"2024-10-19T18:25:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/bs-iso-30581998\/"},"modified":"2024-10-25T14:48:11","modified_gmt":"2024-10-25T14:48:11","slug":"bs-iso-30581998","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/bsi\/bs-iso-30581998\/","title":{"rendered":"BS ISO 3058:1998"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>1.1<\/b> This International Standard specifies the characteristics of the following types of low-power magnifiers and gives recommendations for their selection for the inspection of surfaces.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Single-element magnifiers of magnification typically up to&nbsp;\u00d74 (Type&nbsp;A).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Multi-element magnifiers of magnification typically up to&nbsp;\u00d710 (Type&nbsp;B).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Twin-system magnifiers of magnification typically up to&nbsp;\u00d715 (Type&nbsp;C), categorized as follows:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:lower-alpha\">\n<li>\n<p>binocular, normally with a long working distance (Type&nbsp;C.1);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>bi-ocular<sup>1)<\/sup>, including those refined with stops or other attachments, for quasi-stereoscopic vision (Type&nbsp;C.2).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Concave-mirror magnifiers with front-surface reflectors in powers typically up to&nbsp;\u00d76 (Type&nbsp;D).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>1.2<\/b> This International Standard is not concerned with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>watch-makers&#8217; loupes and spectacles;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>single-element, spherical- or cylindrical-lens magnifiers in which either the lens or the lens-mount rests on the surface of the object to be examined (this includes magnifiers provided with any form of graduated scale for the purpose of measurement);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>plastic lens sacs, liquid-filled;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>magnifiers intended for the examination of internal surfaces.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><b>Non-destructive testing.
