This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the method for determination of fluoride contained in industrial water, industrial wastewater and the like using the flow analysis by the lanthanum-alizarine complexone absorption spectrophotometry after distillation of the sample to separate fluoride as fluoride ion.

The method is also applicable to sunface water, ground water, seepage water, etc.

It does does apply to samples with much suspended matter.
