{"id":307191,"date":"2024-10-19T21:03:36","date_gmt":"2024-10-19T21:03:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/bs-en-iso-11721999\/"},"modified":"2024-10-25T18:40:30","modified_gmt":"2024-10-25T18:40:30","slug":"bs-en-iso-11721999","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/bsi\/bs-en-iso-11721999\/","title":{"rendered":"BS EN ISO 1172:1999"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This International Standard specifies two calcination methods for the determination of the textile-glass and mineral- filler content of glass-reinforced plastics:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Method A: for the determination of the textile-glass content when no mineral fillers are present.<\/p>\n<p>Method B: for the determination of the textile-glass and mineral-filler content when both components are present.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This International Standard is applicable to the following types of material:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>prepregs made from yarns, rovings, tapes or fabrics;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>SMC, BMC and DMC moulding compounds;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>textile-glass-reinforced thermoplastic moulding materials and granules;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>filled or unfilled textile-glass laminates made with thermosetting or thermoplastic resins.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The methods are not applicable to the following types of reinforced plastic:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>those containing reinforcements other than textile glass;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>those containing materials which do not completely burn off at the test temperature (for example, those based on silicone resin);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>those containing mineral fillers which degrade at temperatures below the minimum calcination temperature.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For these materials, ISO 11667, <i>Fibre-reinforced plastics \u2014 Moulding compounds and prepregs \u2014 Determination of resin, reinforcement-fibre and mineral-filler content \u2014 Dissolution method<\/i>, may be used.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><b>Textile-glass-reinforced plastics.
